Donation 112 Announcement – USA, June. 2026 World Cup!

Project Goal

For the first time since France ’98, Scotland’s men’s national team is preparing to compete at the FIFA World Cup. After almost three decades, the return of the National Football Team to the biggest stage marks a significant occasion for all supporters across the nation, and the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal is proud to recognise this milestone through a tournament donation to Project GOAL.

This will represent our second donation linked to a FIFA World Cup, following our contribution to celebrate the achievement of the Scotland woman’s national team during the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, but this will be our first donation associated with a FIFA Men’s World Cup, making it a particularly significant moment for TASA when considering how far we have come since those humble beginnings in Sarajevo way back in 1999 and our first donation at a European Championship qualifier in Lithuania in 2003.

Accordingly, as Scotland prepares to take its place on the world stage once again, we are delighted to confirm that our tournament donation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be made to Project GOAL.

Supporters may recall our previous tournament recipients, KEEN London for Euro 2020 and
Team Bananenflanke in Munich for Euro 2024. Project GOAL is a highly deserving recipient, and like those previous tournament recipients, exemplifies the positive impact that football can have in supporting individuals and strengthening communities.

Project GOAL is committed to creating better opportunities for young people through education, sport and personal development. Its work supports children and families through academic assistance, mentoring, life-skills development and access to safe sporting environments, helping young people to build confidence and develop brighter futures.

At the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal, we are pleased to support an organisation whose values reflect the best qualities of our own core values and the game. Football has the capacity to deliver meaningful and lasting benefits beyond the football pitch, and we are proud to support Project GOAL as preparations continue for FIFA World Cup 2026.

Further details regarding the presentation in Boston will be announced in the coming weeks.
