Everywhere We Go! Bolivia (in USA), June (Donation 111)

Many Hopes/Alalay Project

Identifying a suitable recipient for our 111th consecutive donation, this time in New Jersey for the friendly against Bolivia, was a little challenging, as the opposition and venue was confirmed at fairly short notice. We were pleased to be able to find a charity with links to both New York and Bolivia.

Many Hopes is a US registered charity which has a Bolivian partnership ALALAY, who run a prevention program. They use sports (including football) to help vulnerable children stay out of trouble and to build community ties and learn about leadership.

Prevention is at the heart of their work and the foundation of every action they take, where they support girls, boys, adolescents and young people in urban-marginal areas, promoting safe, healthy and protective environments where they can grow up with real opportunities.

Through football, the game becomes an educational tool to strengthen values, leadership, respect, and coexistence.

Our steering group members were only in New Jersey for a short time and the Many Hopes team were not able to attend a cheque presentation, so Julia from Many Hopes sent us a fantastic video thank you message:
