DKI works with children to promote inclusion, participation and equal opportunities,
particularly for children with disabilities and those who may experience barriers to taking
part in social and recreational activities.

Through inclusive sports, cultural and educational programmes, the organisation creates opportunities for children with different abilities to learn, play and participate alongside
their peers.

Their SIESsail project, for example, uses sailing as an inclusive activity, giving children
the opportunity to develop confidence, teamwork and new skills while encouraging
environmental awareness and respect for the marine environment.

More broadly, DKI’s activities aim to create welcoming spaces where children can build
friendships, express themselves and experience meaningful participation in their
communities.
